Arsenal: Fabrizio Romano drops Dusan Vlahovic claim

Arsenal have recently been reported to have reignited their interest in signing Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic.

However, journalist and transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, recently took to Twitter to share an update on the matter.

He said: “Stories on Dusan Vlahovic and links to Arsenal move for January have been described as wide of [the] mark by sources on both sides. #AFC Vlahovic, only focused on Juventus and Arsenal currently very happy with their strikers.”

The north London club were initially linked with a move for the striker before he made his move to Juventus in the previous January transfer window in a deal worth a reported fee of £66.6m.

During his time with his previous club Fiorentina, the 22-year-old scored 49 goals in 108 senior appearances.

With 29 appearances under his belt for Juventus, the Serbian has found the net 13 times and delivered two assists.

In six Serie A appearances so far this season, Vlahovic has scored four goals in total, in addition to having more shots at goal (20) than any other player at the club, highlighting the danger he has in front of goal.

Even though Mikel Arteta’s side have not had any issues in terms of scoring goals in the Premier League this season, with only two clubs finding the net on more occasions than the Gunners (17), it still would be a disappointment for the supporters to hear that new links to Vlahovic are not accurate as things stand.

As someone who has shown he has the talent to score goals on a regular basis, he would surely be a great addition to Arteta’s ranks and add some extra strength and depth to that area of the squad.

While it may not be the case now, if an opportunity to sign the striker does arise at some point in the future, this is definitely something we feel Arsenal should explore.
