Arsenal and Tottenham were tipped to battle out for Norwich City star Ben Godfrey in the January window.
The highly-rated central defender has excelled under Daniel Farke at Carrow Road over the last 18 months, which has resulted in interest from both the Gunners and Spurs.

However, according to Football Insider, Tottenham have now withdrawn their interest in the 21-year-old after Toby Alderweireld signed a new contract in north London.
Spurs reportedly had a recent approach turned down by the Canaries, which allowed them to focus on tieing Alderweireld down to a new deal.
The news will come as a boost to Arsenal officials, who could now have a free run at landing Godfrey over the coming weeks.

Godfrey recently picked up an ACL injury and isn’t expected to return until February, but the Gunners may still decide to make a move for the impressive youngster.
The Canaries have placed a £50m price tag on the defender’s services, and with Arsenal splashing the cash over the summer, they may decide to test the waters with an offer significantly lower than the asking price.
Godfrey has become an influential figure for Norwich, and if the Gunners can somehow lure him to the Emirates, it could prove to be an excellent piece of business.
