Arsenal fans desperate for Partey signing after father’s comments resurface

Thomas Partey has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in recent months.

The 26-year-old was reportedly desperate to move to north London over the summer, however, the Gunners targeted club-record signing Nicolas Pepe instead.

Speculation has continued in recent months regarding a possible move to the Premier League for the Ghanian and his father’s comments from the summer have resurfaced.

Talking in an interview with Accra based Enigye FM back in June, cited by GhanaWeb, Hon Adjiingo said:

I personally told him to move on, if he is not wanted at where he is right now. Because he might be wanted at somewhere else and so he will like to move to England if he gets the chance.

Those comments were shared by @ZRAFC on social media on Monday, which allowed these Arsenal fans to get excited over a possible January move. JIMAFC_

Arsenal are in desperate need of a dominant midfield figure in front of the back four, so Partey could prove to be that man.

He’s been a regular in Diego Simeone’s side in recent years, establishing himself as one of La Liga’s best in his position.

A midfielder who loves the physical side of the game and has plenty of energy, Partey could turn out to be the Patrick Vieira-like figure Arsenal have been crying out for over the last 15 years.
