Arsenal fans have been left heartbroken following reports that claimed the Gunners wanted to sign Thomas Partey over the summer.
A report from David Ornstein, as cited on social media, suggests that the player himself was desperate for a move to London.
However, the player’s €50 million release clause in his Atletico Madrid contract was deemed to be too expensive for the Gunners, who had spent the majority of their summer budget on Nicolas Pepe.

You have to feel for the Arsenal fans here, especially when a player is so keen to join the club.
Partey would’ve been an excellent addition to the midfield at the Emirates and potentially have gone some way to solving some of the problems that we have seen emerge this season.
The Gunners have struggled to find a settled partnership in the middle of the park. Matteo Guendouzi has impressed in spells but lacks experience while the likes of Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira have come in and out of the side throughout the campaign.
