Wolves have been one of the standout sides outside of the top six since the start of last season, finishing seventh last term and currently being just outside of the top four. They are built on defensive discipline, mainly deploying a 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 formation, allowing for a solid base whilst retaining attacking prowess at the top end of the pitch.
With Arsenal’s defensive woes in recent seasons, Santo could be the perfect manager for the Gunners. He could help to shore up the defence and give Arsenal something to build on going forward, rather than relying on the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette to bail them out of trouble with two-three goals-per-game.
It will now be down to Arsenal to convince Santo that a move to The Emirates is right for him, given that his Wolves side are in such a good position in the Premier League and have just qualified for the knockout stages of the Europa League.
