Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo refused to fully address the rumours linking him with a move to Arsenal, and his coy comments left plenty of supporters worried in the Midlands.
The 45-year-old has emerged as the leading contender to replace the under-pressure Unai Emery.
The Spaniard is walking the tight rope at the Emirates and could be given the sack over the coming days following the Gunners’ woeful form.
Jorge Mendes, Nuno’s agent, has a sound relationship with Arsenal’s head of football Raul Sanllehi, and the pair could put that relationship to use in the coming weeks to lure the former goalkeeper to north London.
Nuno was quizzed by reporters about the Arsenal job ahead of Wolves’ Europa League clash with Braga.
I think you know me well enough. You know I’m not going to answer about that. I’ll never mention an issue that’s not a reality.
Speaking about a job as a manager would be disrespectful, I will not.
The Athletic’s Tim Spiers shared the Portuguese boss’ comments on social media, and they didn’t go down too well with some Wolves fans.

Nuno has been in charge at Molineux for two-and-a-half-years, taking Wolves from Championship strugglers to a Europa League finish in the club’s first season back in the top flight.
Even though he isn’t the biggest name in the managerial game right now, his possible appointment could prove to be a smart one.
His clear plan and style in the Midlands has worked brilliantly in the Championship and the Premier League, and he’d certainly make sure to sort out Arsenal’s defensive problems should he move to North London.
