Unai Emery angers fans with atmosphere comments

Manager Unai Emery has somehow managed to anger Arsenal fans even further with his latest pre-match comments.

Speaking ahead of the game on Thursday night, as reported by The Telegraph’s Sam Dean, the Spaniard appeared to aim a dig at supporters for the lack of atmosphere at the Emirates.

My wish is the supporters help the team because we need them. Our confidence depends a lot on how we feel in our stadium with our supporters. Teams are coming here fearing us less and this is the first thing we need to change.

Arsenal are expecting a low turn out on Thursday night, with supporters continuing to show their anger at the current situation by staying away.

These fans on social media were clearly furious with the under-pressure Arsenal manager.

With his job on the line, it’s certainly a bold strategy from Emery.

Fans are quite clearly staying away from games because of the dull and uninspiring football that is on offer for them.

On one hand, you can see that Emery is trying to issue some kind of rallying cry, but it is just coming across in completely the wrong way.
