Arsenal defender Rob Holding has revealed his shock at Tottenham’s decision to part ways with Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentinian manager was sacked by Arsenal’s North London rivals on Tuesday night before Jose Mourinho was brought in as his replacement.
Speaking to Sky Sports, as cited on HITC, Holding said:
Last night when I heard they sacked him I was shocked, but that’s it from my side, it doesn’t affect me or Arsenal so we need to concentrate on ourselves. I’ve never talked to the guy personally but Tottenham are a big rival to us.
Since the news broke, Pochettino has been suggested as a surprise candidate to replace Unai Emery at the Emirates by a number of ex-players and pundits.

Holding might’ve been shocked at the news, but we’d be even more shocked if the former turned up at the Emirates to replace Emery.
As many have said with the Pochettino saga, football moves on and Spurs fans will very quickly move on to.

It was a bold call for Tottenham to make and only time will tell if it is one that will pay off for the club as they languish in the bottom half of the table.
With a number of managers around Europe now sitting rather anxiously, Pochettino will be watching on carefully as he prepares to make his next move.
