Report reveals why Tierney missed Scotland’s qualifiers

Kieran Tierney was not involved during Scotland’s Euro 2020 qualifiers against Cyprus and Kazakhstan and now a report has revealed the real reason behind his absence.

There was some concern that the Arsenal defender had suffered an injury setback after being left out by Steve Clarke.

However, football.london report that Arsenal had specifically requested that the defender was not to be involved in the games.

Eager for him to get back up to speed as soon as possible, the Gunners agreed with the Scottish FA that he would sit these two out.

This looks like it was a really smart move from Arsenal. Tierney is starting to get back up to his best after failing to shake off a hip injury from last season.

After missing out during this most recent international break, he should be fit enough to face Southampton in the Premier League and supporters will be delighted to see him back in the team.

He has impressed fans when given a chance and once fully up to speed in the Premier League, he’ll give Arsenal an added dynamism to their attack from the full-back spot.
