Liverpool will not be making a move for Arsenal target Denis Zakaria in the new year.
That’s according to The Athletic’s James Pearce, cited by the Mirror, who claims that Jurgen Klopp is happy with his midfield options after the Reds were linked with a move for the Borussia Monchengladbach man.
Manchester United and Tottenham have also been tipped to move for the 22-year-old, but Arsenal appear to be the front runners after holding initial discussions with the player’s representatives last month.

Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torriera have both been linked with moves away from the Emirates in the new year, which would leave Unai Emery with a worrying gap in front of the back four.

Zakaria has played in every game for club and country this season, helping Monchengladbach to the top of the Bundesliga table.
His powering displays have led to many comparing him to Patrick Vieira, a player the Gunners haven’t replaced since his exit in 2005.
Heavweight’s from Germany, Italy and Spain are also monitoring the highly-rated midfielder, so if Arsenal could somehow pull off a move for the Swiss star in the coming months, it could prove to be a crucial piece of business.
