Granit Xhaka has confirmed that he’s ready to fight for his place in the Arsenal squad after being dropped from Unai Emery’s plans.
As reported by France 24, Xhaka reveals his ambitions to win back a place in the team.
Formerly a staple in the Arsenal midfield, the Swiss international has not featured since the game against Crystal Palace.
I feel last week has been dealt with and I’m ready. My time at Arsenal has been very positive for a long time. After a difficult start, I played a lot and overall I’ve had a great time at Arsenal. My family and I also feel very well in the city of London.
I’ll continue to stay positive. (To) give my all to an even greater extent and prove that I am an important part of this great team.

It’s good to see that Xhaka is ready to move on from the incident, but who knows if the Arsenal supporters will be as forgiving.
Newcastle are already being linked with a move to sign the player in January, while the Bundesliga has also been suggested as a potential destination – but clearly Xhaka wants to try and win back his place in the team first.
If Xhaka is to successfully win back his place in the Arsenal starting line up, he will surely have to forget about the captaincy.
Even if it isn’t Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who takes the armband long-term, the chance to lead the team appears to have gone for Xhaka.
