Eddie Nketiah’s injury worse than first feared

Leeds United and Arsenal have been dealt a blow with the news that Eddie Nketiah’s injury is worse than first feared.

Football Insider report that the striker is now expected to miss ‘at least a month and maybe more’ after further examinations.

Initial reports suggested that the player could be out for around three weeks, but it now appears to be worse than that.

It’s another blow for the striker, who hasn’t seen things go his way this season since joining Leeds on loan.

The latest injury news is a real blow for Nketiah and one that may leave both Arsenal and Leeds considering his immediate future with the Elland Road club.

Nketiah is still yet to start a league game for Marcelo Bielsa’s men, making 10 appearances off the bench.

Having now scored five in all competitions, it looked like the tide was beginning to turn for Nketiah. However, this latest setback means that he won’t be starting games anytime soon.

Arsenal may want to consider recalling the striker and giving him a fresh start in the new year, while Leeds need to find themselves a reliable alternative to Patrick Bamford that Bielsa will trust consistently.

Things haven’t gone to plan since his arrival at Elland Road and a move to a different club when the window opens in January could save what has been a tough season so far.
