Bayern Munich have decided to look elsewhere for a new manager, ending any interest in Arsene Wenger.
According to Sport Bild, the former Gunners boss personally phoned Karl-Heinz Rummenigge to signal his interest in the job.
Unfortunately for him, they have decided to turn down the Frenchman. A statement to Bild from the German heavyweights explained the decision:
Bayern appreciate Arsene Wenger very much for his work as coach at Arsenal, but he is no option as a coach at Bayern Munich.

Of course, it’s never nice to see someone turned down, espically Arsene Wenger himself.
Bayern must have something or someone in mind for them not to pursue Wenger.

As short-term appointments go, they will surely struggle to find someone with his experience and accolades who is ready to step in until the end of the season.
After so long out of the game now, maybe the time has finally come for Wenger to look beyond any further managerial appointments and pursue another avenue in the game.
It wouldn’t seem right for him to finish his managerial career at a lesser-ranked club after all he has achieved in years gone by, but an elite job may be hard to come by.
