Gabriel Martinelli is at risk of missing as many as six Arsenal games over the new year period.
As reported by the Mirror, the player’s fine form could see him called up for the Brazilian U23’s CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament in Colombia, which runs from the middle of January through until February.
If he were to be named in the squad, he’d miss games against Chelsea, Burnley, Sheffield United and Newcastle. The Gunners would also be without for him the FA Cup fourth round and Carabao Cup semi-finals – should they reach those stages.

This could be an untimely blow for Arsenal, with Martinelli establishing himself as a first-team player in recent months.
He has been impressing in the Europa League and the Carabao Cup and is now pushing for more regular game time in the Premier League.
With five goals to his name already, Martinelli will be feeling hopeful he can improve upon his three sub appearances in the Premier League before the Christmas period – which will only increase the chances of international recognition.

Arsenal could be the victims of his brilliant form, as it is clearly not going unnoticed.
This will come as a blow to the Gunners, who will be losing a versatile attacker over a busy period.
Able to play centrally or out wide, Martinelli is a great asset for Emery to have in his squad.
