Manchester United had the chance to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang when he left Borussia Dortmund but passed up the opportunity to secure his services.
According to The Athletic, as cited on the Mirror, United had spent months scouting the player ahead of his anticipated exit from Dortmund.
However, due to concerns about his playstyle, they decided against a move for the player before he would go on to join the Gunners.

Manchester United’s loss has certainly been Arsenal’s gain since his arrival in North London.
Aubameyang has been Arsenal’s most dangerous attacker by some distance since his arrival.
Having joined the club in 2018, he is closing in on 50 goals in all competitions for the player, an incredible return for just over a season and a half of football in London.
This might be a deal that United look back on with some regret, espically when you consider the struggles that they have had in the final third of late.
As one of the more senior players at the Emirates, Aubameyang has become a leader within the squad and that appears to be what Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team is crying out for.
