Dani Ceballos now looks likely to return to Real Madrid, with the Spanish giants keen to use him as part of a squad overhaul.
According to AS, Madrid are looking to cut costs this summer and rebuild their squad using players that are currently out on loan.
Real have built something of a loan army themselves and plan to save money on transfers by using the likes of Ceballos, Martin Odegaard and Achraf Hakimi next season in order to splash out on Kylian Mbappe.

It had been reported that Ceballos had no future in Spain after previously falling out of favour, opening the door to a permanent Arsenal move.
This is unlikely to be the last we hear on Ceballos’ future, it seems to be an ever-changing scenario at Madrid. With that in mind, it’s easy to see why Emery has been reluctant to talk too much about the midfielder’s long-term future.
Ceballos’ form has been slightly indifferent in recent weeks. From the high of his performances against Burnley and Standard Liege, the Spaniard hasn’t been able to enjoy as big of an impact on the team as he would’ve hoped, although that may say more about Arsenal’s current predicament as a whole.
He still has some way to go to prove that he deserves a permanent contract at the Emirates, but the potential is certainly there. However, it looks like it could be out of Arsenal’s hands as they wait to discover Real Madrid’s stance on the player.
