“Makes zero sense” – Arsenal fans hit back at Zaha transfer suggestions

Arsenal fans have hit back at suggestions claiming the club should go back in for Wilfried Zaha at the end of the season.

The Crystal Palace star was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates over the summer and was reportedly hoping to seal a move across London, however, the Gunners ended signing fellow Ivorian Nicolas Pepe from Lille.

Pepe and Zaha lined up in attack during the international break, with the latter setting up Pepe before getting on the scoresheet himself late on.

The link-up play between the pair left many fans dreaming of a club partnership, with fan page @LTArsenal urging the Gunners to head back in for the Palace man next summer.

However, these Gunners supporters were quick to slam the idea, with some suggesting other areas need to be strengthened first.

We’re with these Arsenal supporters in believing a move for Zaha is unnecessary at this moment in time.

The likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli have excelled in the opening months, and Zaha’s arrival would only disrupt the growth of the two attacking youngsters.

Unai Emery would be better off looking to bolster his defensive and holding midfield options, but with Zaha a former target and keen on a move, the Gunners could be tempted into revisiting their interest in the unsettled Eagles ace.
