According to reports in Spain, Brazilian left-back Marcelo has told Real Madrid that he wants to leave the club and Arsenal are one of the clubs who’ve contacted the former European Champions to declare an interest in signing him.
So, would Marcelo be a good signing for the Gunners?
Although he has been around for a long time, Marcelo has only recently turned 31-years-old so he still has a few years of high-level football ahead of him,
Furthermore, looking at the other teams interested in him, AC Milan, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain, proves that there are some of the best clubs in Europe who seem to think that Marcelo is still capable of playing at a high level.

Left-back has been an issue for the Gunners with Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac putting in inconsistent displays, so Marcelo would be a huge upgrade.
The only issues could be a possible transfer fee and wages. The Brazilian star is one of the most high profile full-backs in the world and as such, he’ll likely looking for a big salary whilst Real Madrid won’t want to lose him on the cheap.
Arsenal look keen to sign Kieran Tierney and looking long-term, that could be a better deal for the Gunners but short term, if the finances work, Marcelo would be a much better option to help the club get back into the Champions League and from there, they would be in a situation to spend more money on bigger targets.
