Arsenal will be aiming to end their league season on a high when they face Burnley at Turf Moor on an expectedly sunny Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners’ chances of finishing in the top-four are next to impossible, with them having to beat the Clarets by four goals and hoping that Tottenham lose their game to Everton by the same margin.
Hence, with a Europa League Final to come, they will be looking to tick this league game off and aim to be ready for the only viable route to the Champions League.
Curiously enough, Unai Emery’s men have a decent record away from home in Europe but have been atrocious in the league. Burnley at Turf Moor won’t be easy as well.
There are no new injury concerns for the manager, as he should aim to rotate his starting XI to some extent, but not much as the Europa Final is still 17 days away.
Here’s how we think Emery may line his team up tomorrow.
GK - Bernd Leno
Back from a rest in midweek, Arsenal’s number one should be back in goal at Turf Moor.
RB - Ainsley Maitland-Niles
The youngster didn’t feature in the previous league game due to suspension. Hence, we could see him starting at right-back.
CB - Shkodran Mustafi
Mustafi played the last few minutes in Valencia. He should be fresh to start against Burnley.
CB - Sokratis
Captain Laurent Koscielny could be saved for the Europa Final, hence Sokratis may continue to play in central defence.
LB - Nacho Monreal
The Spaniard played as left-sided centre-back at Valencia and did a good job. He could revert to left-back against Burnley.
CM - Matteo Guendouzi
The youngster may get a start ahead of Lucas Torreira, who started on Thursday and visibly needs some rest ahead of the final.
CM - Granit Xhaka
The Switzerland international was quite wasteful and sloppy on Thursday. He needs to be better than that against the Clarets.
RM - Henrikh Mkhitaryan
The Armenian star came off the bench against Valencia. He should get a chance from the start on Sunday.
CAM - Mesut Ozil
The former German international was superb against Valencia but was subbed off on the hour mark. Hence, he should be fresh enough to start against Burnley.
LM - Alex Iwobi
Iwobi has been in and out of the team lately. However, he should get a chance from the start on Sunday.
ST - Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Chasing an improbable Golden Boot, Aubameyang may get an opportunity to do that by leading the line. Alexandre Lacazette deserves to get a rest.
