Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny has reportedly emerged as a target for AS Roma.
It is reported by TMW, as cited by Football Italia, that the Serie A side want to strengthen their options in the middle of the park and have identified the Egyptian international as a potential transfer target.
Elneny has struggled to force his way into Unai Emery’s plans at the Emirates Stadium this season, with all of Lucas Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi and Granit Xhaka preferred in the holding midfield roles.

This appears to have prompted speculation that the former FC Basel star could seek pastures new in the January transfer window, with Rome touted as a potential destination.
It is reported that Eusebio Di Francesco’s side have enquired about an initial loan move for Elneny with an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the current campaign.
The 26-year-old has made only one Premier League start this season but has featured in five of Arsenal’s six Europa League games thus far.
