Nicolo Barella is reportedly on the verge of turning down a January move to Chelsea, with Arsenal also thought to be interested.
A report from Tutto Mercato, via talkSPORT, claims that Barella is going to reject Chelsea’s advances to stay in Italy for the rest of the season.
This comes as not only a blow to Chelsea but to Arsenal as well as they have been touted with an interest in the midfielder.
The report claims that Barella wants to stay in Italy for family reasons and would only consider an exit this month if it were to one of the big sides in the Serie A.
The likes of Inter and Napoli are known admirers of the midfielder and they could now come in for his signature after learning he is not so keen to move to the Premier League.
Unai Emery is thought to be keen on signing a central midfielder this month and has also been linked with Sevilla’s Ever Banega.
