Arsenal are now Napoli’s biggest rivals for the signing of highly-rated midfielder Nicolo Barella, according to Sky Sport Italia.
Chelsea have been in the running for the Italian’s signature, but the west London club are “resisting Maurizio Sarri’s calls” to buy him.
With the Blues seemingly edging their way out of the picture, it is Arsenal who have emerged as Napoli’s sternest competition.
The Serie A giants are believed to be considering an offer of €45-50million at the end of the season.

Napoli are not underestimating the threat Arsenal pose, especially with Barella hinting that he favours a move to the Premier League in the past.
At just 21. the Cagliari midfielder has a big future ahead of him and would be perfect for the Gunners.
Napoli look to be the current front-runners, but a bid from Arsenal could easily turn Barella’s head.
He has won four caps for Italy since making his debut in a 1-1 draw with Ukraine in October 2018.
