The Evening Standard claim Alex Iwobi nearly joined a number of clubs before committing his future to Arsenal.
The Nigerian international has now become a regular fixture in Arsenal’s squad, having made well over 100 appearances for the club.
However, things could have been very different. The now 22-year-old claimed that prior to signing his scholarship deal with the Gunners he had considered moving to one of three other clubs, namely Celtic, Crystal Palace, and Southampton.

Quoted by the Standard, Iwobi said:
I felt that maybe I wasn’t rated at Arsenal but I always felt at home here, so I signed the scholarship forms,
Then it was all about proving people wrong.
Iwobi has made a stunning 117 appearances for the North Londoners, and could go on to raise that number to an eye-watering level before his Emirates career is done.
Despite struggling with injury so far this season, Iwobi has been picked by Unai Emery on 13 occasions, suggesting his playing time isn’t about to dry up any time soon.
