Milan are reportedly trying to scupper Arsenal’s chances of signing Julian Weigl from Borussia Dortmund.
According to reports in Kicker, as cited on Calciomercato, the German midfielder has emerged as a potential transfer target for the Rossoneri ahead of the January transfer window.
Weigl, who has started just two league games this season, has been linked with moves away from the Bundesliga after falling out of favour under Lucien Favre.
The youngster was once considered a key component of their squad, sitting at the base of their midfield but the summer arrival of Axel Witsel means he has played a lesser role this season.
Arsenal are among the teams to be linked with the player, as Sven Mislintat looks to bring yet another player with Dortmund connections to North London.
The midfielder remains highly rated in Germany, with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola among those to speak of their admiration for him in the past.
