Arsenal target Pablo Fornals is reportedly also attracting interest from La Liga giants Barcelona.
The Villarreal star has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in recent days, with Unai Emery said to be an admirer of the player.
The Gunners had reportedly shortlisted him as a potential replacement for Aaron Ramsey, who is set to leave the club at the end of his contract.

However, according to Marca, as cited on Calciomercato, Barcelona will rival Arsenal for his signature over the coming months.
Both clubs are expected to be in the market to sign central midfielders over the summer.
Villarreal have played down interest from Arsenal, with the La Liga side hoping to keep hold of the player until the summer at least.
The report from Spain still claims that the player has a release clause of €25 million, while other outlets have suggested the player’s actual clause is in the region of €40 million.
