Arsenal are reportedly keeping an eye on Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella.
Sport Witness claim the Gunners have ‘noted’ the abilities of the 21-year-old, seen by many as one of the hottest prospects in European football.
A list of prestigious Italian midfielders can be dreamt up easily, and Barella could be one to join the likes of Andrea Pirlo, Daniele De Rossi, and Marco Tardelli.
A team of Arsenal scouts is said to have recently attended a Cagliari match, assigned with the task of determining how good Barella might one day be.
The North Londoners added to their midfield ranks in the summer with the signings of Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi, but are expected to lose veteran box-to-box threat Aaron Ramsey at the end of the season.
After negotiations failed between the club and Ramsey, Arsenal fans seem resigned to the fact the Welshman is heading out the door at the Emirates.
