Arsenal legend Paul Merson has implored Aaron Ramsey to sign a new contract at the club.
Whilst speaking on Sky Sports, as reported by The Sport Review, Merson addressed Ramsey’s situation at the club after a summer of speculation.
The midfielder’s contract runs out towards the end of this season, but Arsenal have not been able to tempt the Welsh international into signing a long-term deal that will see him stay in London.

The 26-year-old had been linked with moves to Liverpool and Chelsea in the summer transfer window, and if Arsenal fail to tie him up, he can leave for free next summer, just like Jack Wilshere did earlier this year.
When asked about the issue, Merson replied:
I am shocked he is still there. He should just sign now. I thought Chelsea might come in for him. It is a massive football club. He plays every week for Arsenal. He could go elsewhere and might play 15 games.
It is thought that the reason contract talks are stalling is that he wants a deal in the region £250,000-a-week, something Arsenal are not willing to pay.
