Arsenal considering move for midfielder who has €50m release clause
Arsenal will battle with Paris Saint-Germain and Napoli for the signature of Celta Vigo midfielder Stanislav Lobotka.
Corriere dello Sport claims that three teams are interested in the player who boasts a €50 million release clause in his current contract.
Napoli had been leading the race to sign the player, who they saw as a replacement for the departing Marek Hamsik.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side are reportedly confident of their chances of completing a deal, but face competition from Arsenal and the Ligue 1 champions.
Hamsik looks set to replace a big role in the deal, having previously revealed that he has spoken to his fellow countryman about the prospect of joining the Naples club.
The 23-year-old was ever present for Celta in La Liga last season, making 38 appearances, 34 of which were starts.
The Slovakian has drawn comparisons to a young Luka Modric in Spain and looks set to be a prospect for the future.
