Jean Michael Seri is being targeted as Arsenal’s first summer signing, reports the Mail Online.
The move would make him the first signing under head coach Unai Emery, and he is someone the Spaniard has targeted before.
The Gunners want to overhaul their squad as they try to get back into the top four of the Premier League and they won’t be afraid to spend money to do achieve their aims.
Seri has a £35 million release clause in his contract so the Gunners may need to act fast as the 26-year-old is of interest to many European clubs.
Currently playing for Nice, he has featured over 120 times since signing in 2015 and was targeted by Barcelona last summer, although the move collapsed at the last minute.
Emery also tried to sign the Ivorian in January. He was in charge of PSG at the time and wanted to secure the title with a stronger midfield.
He will know Seri well as his PSG side came up against Nice four times in the past two seasons.
