Huge Arsenal star set to return to the starting line-up

Arsenals chances of advancing into the final of the Europa league have greatly increased with reports from The Daily Star suggesting the Armenian international: Henrik Mkhitaryan is expected to start against the inform Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid.

Arsenal will take a 1-1 scoreline to the Wanda Metropolitano, and will require the services of former Europa League winner Henrik Mkhitaryan if Arsenal are to hope of progressing to this year’s final.

Arsene Wenger’s men struck first in their previous encounter with Alexandre Lacazette scoring on the hour mark. And with Diego Simeone’s dismissal to the stands, Arsenal looked in pole position to reach the final. However, a late strike by Antoine Griezmann levelled the score and allowed Atletico an away goal advantage going into this 2nd leg of the Europa League semi-final.

Henrik Mkhitaryan (29) was forced off the pitch earlier this season against CSKA Moscow after suffering a gruelling knee injury which, was expected to rule him out for the season. Further scans also indicated that Mkhitaryan may even miss the beginning of the next season too.

Fortunately for the Gunners, the Armenian has completed a miraculous comeback. Starting against his former club Manchester United last weekend where his strike levelled the score 1-1. However, the Arsenal winger was later taken off after sustaining a blow to the knee which raised fears again.

Despite this Henrik Mkhitaryan will be fit for the clash against Atletico today and if his performance at the weekend is anything to go by, were in for a tantalizing clash between these two European giants.
