Arsenal join Man City and Spurs in race to sign £20m midfielder

Arsenal are the latest club to show an interest in Norwich City midfielder James Maddison.

The Championship star is set to be in the centre of a bidding war during the summer with six Premier League clubs vying for the Norwich City player’s signature, reports the Telegraph.

Premier League Champions Manchester City, Tottenham and Arsenal are all pursuing the 21-year-old, with Southampton and Brighton also on the radar. However, with Southampton deep in relegation trouble, their chances could be slim if they go down.

Maddison emerged as a star player after a magnificent season for Norwich and was named in the EFL Team of the Season.

The Canaries will want to keep hold of Maddison as they try and get back to the top flight at the third attempt. His contract runs until 2021, but the England Under 21 player will not want to wait around if it is another mid-table finish ahead.

If they were to sell, the East Anglian club would want at least £20 million for their top scorer, but with many big clubs interested, they will be confident of receiving a higher amount.
