Arsenal have been given a boost in their pursuit of Shakhtar Donetsk attacking midfielder Bernard, with Inter Milan having now pulled out of the race.
The Brazilian playmaker confirmed last month that he would not be signing a new deal with the Ukrainian Premier League champions, allowing him to leave this summer on a free transfer.
While Inter have been the club most heavily linked with an offer for the 25-year old, Arsenal and Chinese Premier League outfit Hebei China Fortune were also said to be interested back in December of last year, according to TransferMarketWeb.

According to Calciomercato, La Gazzetta Dello Sport claim that Inter have reportedly been following Bernard for a while, and while they want to sign the Brazilian, they will not bow to his demands.
Inter have now ended their interest, due to economic reasons, with Bernard’s personal demands as well as that of his entourage proving too high for the Nerazzurri.
This could leave the door open for Arsenal to make a move, with Arsene Wenger sure to be looking for a replacement for Alexis Sanchez this summer. However, given that Bernard will soon be a free agent, he is bound to have plenty of suitors come the end of the season.
