Arsenal set to beat Liverpool to Kai Havertz

According to the Mirror, Arsenal are set to beat Liverpool to the signing of Bayer Leverkusen wonder-kid, Kai Havertz.

The 18-year-old has become a key figure in Leverkusen’s success this season, which has drawn a lot of attention to the youngster from the bigger European sides.

Arsenal and Liverpool are both interested but Arsenal is looking the most likely at this time, with Havertz previously saying that he is a huge admirer of Arsenal playmaker and fellow German, Mesut Ozil.

With their very similar playing style and body shape, as well as both being German, Havertz has already drawn comparisons with the former Real Madrid midfielder, with many projecting him to the “next” Ozil.

The Germany U19 international broke into the Leverkusen first team in 2016 and has impressed ever since. Scoring seven goals and grabbing 13 assists in 56 appearances.

Havertz famously missed Leverkusen’s Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid last season, as he had exams at school on that same day.
