French star pleads with Arsenal to sign him this summer
At the start of the season, Ousmane Dembele swapped Borussia Dortmund for Barcelona and the Frenchman looks like he could be on the move again.
Costing the Catalonians £100m, the promising winger has been plagued with injuries and in turn, has failed to live up to to his epic price tag.On debut, the 20-year-old suffered a hamstring injury against Getafe which subsequently ruled him out for four months. After only making just 13 appearances for the league leaders, he is begging for an exit.
According to reports, Dembele fancies a reunion in North London with former Dortmund teammate Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang.
It’s likely Arsene Wegner (should he be there come the season’s end) will be interested in the Frenchman to directly replace Alexis Sanchez following his departure in January.
Dembele, who will be monitored closely by Arsenal in the upcoming World Cup should he make the squad, will be their top target heading into the next Premier League season.
Similar to the start of last season where the club went after the winger’s France compatriot Thomas Lemar, with the pursuit being unsuccessful.
With two very similar targets over the last two seasons, it’s no question Wenger is looking to strengthen the wing position to assist new signing in Aubameyang and Dembele could be the right fit.
