Arsenal could miss out on €30m-rated forward as Italian side prepare swap offer

AC Milan are hoping to beat Arsenal to the signature of long-term transfer target Cristian Pavon.

TyC Sports claim the Italian side are preparing a swap deal in an attempt to sign the highly-rated forward this summer.

Genaro Gattuso is hoping that the inclusion of Paraguayan defender Gustavo Gómez in the could lower Boca Juniors’ asking price.

The forward has a €30 million release clause and with Milan unlikely to qualify for the Champions League next season, that is a figure they’re not willing to match.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Pavon for some time, he was once viewed as a long-term replacement for Alexis Sanchez.

French striker Alexandre Lacazette has also been linked with a summer exit, so the Gunners are likely to be in the market for attacking options this summer.

Pavon, who play both on the right and the left, as well as through the middle, has scored five times and registered a further seven assists in 20 domestic appearances this season.
