Arsenal eye summer move for long-term Cech replacement

Arsenal will go head-to-head with both Roma and Napoli for the signature of Alban Lafont.

L’Equipe reports that the Gunners are one of three sides interested in signing the Toulouse goalkeeper, who is widely expected to leave the French side this summer.

Despite being just 19 years of age, Lafont is closing in on nearly 100 domestic appearances in France.

He has impressed this season, drawing comparisons to the likes of Gianluigi Dommarumma, who is rated as one of the world’s best young goalkeepers.

Arsenal will be in the market for a long-term replacement for Petr Cech, who has shown signs of his decline this season.

The goalkeeper is under contract with the Ligue 1 side until June 2020 but the club faces a battle to keep him.

Roma and Napoli will also be in the market for goalkeepers this summer. Allison is attracting Premier League interest from Liverpool, while Pepe Reina is also in the latter stages of his career.
