After being voted in as president of Liberia, former Ballon d’Or winner George Weah is planning a special inauguration ceremony and has one high-profile manager on his invitation list.
Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Weah has personally invited the Arsenal manager to his inauguration ceremony.
I have been invited by George to come to the day where he will be the President. I believe I will be busy but if I am suspended (for his comments on referees) I will have time to go.
Today, it was announced that Wenger had been slapped with a three-match touchline ban for his comments and actions made towards match officials following the draw against West Brom, so perhaps he will indeed have time to accept Weah’s proposal.
