In the North London Derby win over Tottenham, Mesut Ozil displayed the level of performance that the Gunners fans have come to adore in the four-plus years the German has spent at the Emirates.
However, given his contract situation, most of those fans have come to terms with the notion that Ozil will probably be leaving Arsenal at the end of the season.
The 29-year-old has been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Inter Milan but the Mirror report that Barcelona are plotting a January swoop for the playmaker as an alternative to Philippe Coutinho.

Barcelona failed with a number of bids to land Liverpool’s Brazilian midfielder in the summer and have been told to look elsewhere, with Ozil emerging on their shortlist.
The report claims that Barcelona think that Arsenal will be willing to cash-in on Ozil in January to avoid losing him for free next summer and the La Liga giants will offer £17m to get the deal done.
With Arsenal still in the thick of the Champions League qualification race, it’s almost unfathomable to think that they would part ways with one of their top players mid-season.
