Arsenal’s recruitment strategy has been criticised in recent seasons but it appears the club have taken a huge step towards rectifying any issues.
As the Mirror notes, the Gunners have persuaded Barcelona transfer chief Raul Sanllehi t leave the La Liga giants and join the North London club as they look to shake up their transfer process.
Looking to become a perennial force in the Premier League again, Arsenal will take Sanllehi on in a director of operations role where he will work alongside Ivan Gazidis at the Emirates.
Sanllehi has been a key part of Barcelona’s transfer negotiations in recent years and is understood to have been a major player in the deal which saw Neymar join the club from Santos.
Arsenal’s have been picked apart by members of the media as well as their own fans for their reckless transfer policy and allowing players to enter the final years of their contracts, and perhaps Sanllehi’s arrival can help them turn a corner.
