Arsenal fans got their wish when Jack Wilshere made his first Premier League appearance of the season in the 5-2 romp over Everton on the weekend as Arsene Wenger begins to put his faith back into the England international.
The biggest question regarding Wilshere has always been his fitness and after recovering from a fractured leg he’s back in the first-team fold, although he’s been primarily limited to just cup duty.
Wilshere played key roles in Arsenal’s last two wins in the Europa League and he also bagged an assist off the bench in the win at Goodison, performances that appear to have impressed the Arsenal hierarchy who are set to open contract talks with the midfielder.

Like Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, Wilshere’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season but Arsenal are hoping they can make headway on a new deal within the next month or so.
The likes of West Ham and Everton have been linked with Wilshere in recent times, but Chelsea and Manchester City could revive their interest in the former Bournemouth loanee should he remain fit and return to his previous performance levels as they look to boost their respective home-grown quotas.
