Iwobi: We need Ozil and Sanchez

Arsenal midfielder, Alex Iwobi is in a last-ditch attempt to convince the Arsenal hierarchy to extend the contracts of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez who both have their contracts expiring at the end of the season. In what is somewhat resembling a plea bargain for both men to stay that The Emirates, Iwobi has eulogized the qualities of the pair, insisting that we need both of them if we are to challenge for the major honors.

Sanchez was close to a move to Manchester City this summer but a deal fell through at the last minute as Arsenal failed to bring in Thomas Lemar from Monaco.

Ozil on the other hand is being linked to a move to Manchester United to reunite with former boss, Jose Mourinho. Iwobi, 21 has enjoyed an upturn in form in recent matches following the injury to Ozil and is expected to become more prominent in the first team should they decide to leave the North London giants.

Iwobi was instrumental over the weekend, scoring the goal that sent Nigeria to the 2018 World Cup in Russia with a 73rd minute winner against Zambia. In between, you can check out with freebets.org for world-cup best sport betting offers.

Speaking recently, the 21-year-old Nigerian international told the Sun, “When they are fit they are unstoppable. They are both capable of changing a game or a season,” “They have a big decision to make.

But it would be a huge setback to lose them because from the stats you can see we do need them for their goals and assists. “For a team like Arsenal, we need to be aiming for the top four and we need what they bring.” he added.

Ozil and Sanchez are free to negotiate with foreign vlubs from January 1. Both men are exceptionally gifted but ambitious. They feel that Arsenal are not spending enough to match their ambition. They have refused to sign contract extensions as they aim for moves to the clubs.

Iwobi is an attacking midfielder known for his trickery, movement and the ability to drive the ball. He is a graduate of the Arsenal academy who broke into the team in 2015, and has since made 65 appearances for the 13-time English champions and scoring on 7 occasions.
