Gazidis Sees Arsenals Transfer Window As A Success
Arsenal CEO Ivan Gazidis stated that Arsenal have had a successful transfer window.
Gazidis has stunned fans with his latest comments on Arsenal’s transfer activity. Many fans and former players believed this window to be a huge disaster, but according to Gazidis, this ‘improved squad’ has the ability to challenge for the title.
The improved squad depth Gazidis is talking about of course Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac. But the Arsenal CEO also reiterated the importance of keeping Arsenal’s star players Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil as an important factor in the success of the clubs transfer window. However, Arsenal were unable to tie the players down to new and improved contracts.
Apart from the two summer signings Arsenal made, all other transfer activity was focused on shipping players out of the club.
In hindsight, Gazidis stated that the result of the Liverpool game had tarnished Arsenal’s transfer window, and added “a positive result would have coloured this transfer window very differently.”
There are reports that Gazidis also sent players and staff a bullish email the morning after the transfer window, to admit the start of the season had been ‘poor’ but nevertheless, the critics have misjudged Arsenal’s summer transfers.
