Last season was a total and unexpected disappointment for Arsenal in the Premier League.
Throughout the Arsene Wenger era, the one constant despite the Frenchman’s running of the club was his ability to continually secure a place in the following season’s Champions League, but that 21-year run came to an end last season when the Gunners finished in fifth place.
The task now for Wenger and Arsenal is to break back into the top four and to do so the club need to do two things: keep their best players and bring in some star quality.

Mid-way through July and Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are still members of the team despite not signing contract extensions with their current deals set to end next summer, but the plan is that Arsenal will bide their time and continue to turn away offers for their star attackers at the risk of losing them for nothing in a years time.
In terms of incomings, the Gunners have smashed their transfer record with the £53m acquisition of Alexandre Lacazette who is just one of five players who has scored over 20 goals in each of the last three seasons in Europe’s top five leagues, a real class addition to the Arsenal squad.
The Gunners aren’t done yet in terms of bringing fresh faces to the club and they are desperate to sign Monaco star Thomas Lemar. Arsenal are believed to be leading the race to sign the France international and make sure you take advantage of Bet365’s deposit bonus offer if you think the deal will go through.

Lemar came through the ranks at SC Caen where he made his name in French football before making a £3.4m move to Monaco in the summer of 2015 where he has developed into one of European football’s best young creators.
Last season, Lemar contributed 14 goals and 17 assists in 55 appearances across all competitions as Monaco won the Ligue 1 title and made it to the Champions League semi-final, striking up a wonderful partnership with striker Kylian Mbappe, also wanted by Arsenal and Bernardo Silva, now of Manchester City.
Reports claim Arsenal have had multiple bids rejected already for Lemar with Monaco not wavering on their £50m asking price for the attacker, and it remains to be seen if the Gunners will meet it.
Lemar would slot into an attacking trio of himself, Sanchez and Ozil behind Lacazette in attack, giving Arsenal one of the most exciting forward lines in the Premier League – but they need to have a bid accepted first.
