Who are Arsenal facing in pre-season?

With the new Premier League season getting underway in just over a month’s time, preparations for the new season are well underway up and down the country.

As with most major European clubs, a pre-season tour in a foreign country is a staple in preparing for the season ahead and it is no different with Arsenal.

The Gunners head to Australia in the next couple of days to start their tour of the East.

Arsenal will play Sydney FC on July 13 at ANZ Stadium and will play again at the same venue four days later against Western Sydney Wanderers.

After two matches in Australia, Arsene Wenger’s men head to Shanghai to take on Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich on July 19, with a match against reigning Premier League champions Chelsea on July 22 in Beijing.

Arsenal’s pre-season preparations conclude with their traditional Emirates Cup competition on July 29 and 30 where they will take on Benfica and Sevilla. Red Bull Leipzig have also been invited but will not face Arsenal.

The winners of last season’s FA Cup and Premier League in Arsenal and Chelsea face each other at Wembley Stadium on August 6 in England’s traditional curtain-raiser to the new season before kicking off the new league season against Leicester City on Friday night.
