According to Matt Spiro, French football writer and broadcaster, Arsenal and Liverpool target Kylian Mbappe has been offered a huge new contract at Monaco.
Twitter: Monaco have offered Kylian Mbappé a 900% pay rise in bid to keep him. New deal would take him from €18k to €162k/w, parity with Falcao (JDD) (@mattspiro)
This new offer from the club would be very hard to turn down for Mbappe. This new deal sees him on the same wages as club captain Radamel Falcao. Monaco’s intentions are very clear. They want to keep Mbappe for next season and with this new deal and Champions League football, this may be possible.
Mbappe is one of Arsenal’s main targets for this summer as they look to find a new focal point for their attack. Although this deal seems too good to refuse Arsenal do have their interest in other players. Various reports suggest the Gunners are close to agreeing a deal to sign Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.
Lacazette scored a very impressive 28 goals in 28 starts for Lyon this season. Both of these strikers would be impressive signings for Arsenal, however, the latter looks more likely.
