Arsene Wenger has targetted Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez and Middlesbrough Ben Gibson as he plans to re-build for next season, according to reports from the Express.
Wenger has been under intense pressure this season from a selection of the club’s supporters but appears likely to remain on as manager next season.
The price tag for both of the players could total up to around a reported £55 million.
£30 million alone could be spent on the £100,000 per week Leicester City forward Mahrez, who still has three years left on his contract which he signed last year.
Arsenal could face some competition to sign the forward as French giants Paris Saint-Germain are still reportedly interested in signing him in summer’s transfer window.
Their second target Middlesborough defender Gibson has been valued at £30 million by Middlesborough, but Arsenal see the player valued closer to £25 million.
Gibson still has four years left remaining on his current contract but Middlesborough are likely to be forced into selling the defender following their recent relegation back to the Championship.
