A welcome return to winning ways for Arsenal as they dispatched a struggling West Ham side 3-0 at the Emirates.
The visitors were resolute in the first half which made some think perhaps this wouldn’t be Arsenal’s night but Mesut Ozil’s curling effort found it’s way beyond Darren Randolph and into the far corner to open the scoring.
Theo Walcott doubled the lead soon after when Ozil found him unmarked in the middle of the box. Olivier Giroud completed the scoring late on with a lovely finessed effort.
Arsenal’s first Premier League win in nearly two months couldn’t have come at a better time as they now sit four points adrift from the top four with a game in hand on the club’s above them – the race is back on.
