A deal for Carl Jenkinson to join Crystal Palace is off, Arsene Wenger has suggested.
The defender has reportedly been given permission to leave the north London club but has failed to agree personal terms with the Eagles.
Sam Allardyce is apparently keen to link up with Jenkinson once again, after managing him during his time at West Ham.
Jenkinson joined Mathieu Debuchy on the Arsenal transfer list this month but neither player has managed to make a move, with interest in both players reportedly low.
Wenger has quashed the deal, however, stating to the media that it now looks unlikely this month.
At the moment it doesn’t look like anything will happen. There is no news about him, but we are still open as we have many players in his position. He has a great attitude, but he must find happiness where he goes.
Jenkinson has only made five appearances for the Gunners this season, in all competitions, and that indicates his current standing within the club.

Allardyce has also admitted the club have other priorities before the window closes, despite his interest in Jenkinson.
We have other priorities at the moment. Who knows what might happen, but not for now [a deal for Jenkinson].
The deal is not yet totally dead in the water, with Wenger making it clear he’s still happy for the 24-year-old to leave. But as it stands, Jenkinson will be staying at the Emirates.
