Arsenal will face Southampton in the fourth round of the FA Cup later today. The Gunners have struggled to get a result at the St. Mary’s stadium over the last couple of years, which puts, even more pressure on Arsène Wenger and his team.
If Southampton manage to knock out Arsenal in this round of the FA Cup, it means that Wenger’s side will fail to reach the fifth round of the Cup for the first time since the 09/10 season. That season they got knocked out by Stoke City.
Wenger has to share the position of most successful manager in the history of the FA Cup, as both he and George Ramsey won it six times throughout their careers. The Frenchman will be keen to hold this record for himself, which can only be achieved by winning it for the seventh time.
Arsenal are likely to start with a lot of experienced and first-team players, so they will have a great chance of proceeding to the next round of the cup.
