Arsenal have been linked with the Leicester City star for the last few weeks. According to L’Equipe consultant, Gilles Favard, Arsenal had bid £30 million for the player, which was quickly rebuffed by Leicester City, but it was expected Arsenal would return with a second bid.

According to Ed Aarons of the Guardian, however, Riyad Mahrez has now accepted that he will not leave Leicester City this transfer window. The player’s agent met with Leicester City director of football, Jon Rudkin, who reiterated Leicester’s desire to keep the player.

Mahrez will now be the second player to decline a move to Arsenal after Jamie Vardy, rejected Arsenal earlier in the window.
